Employee includes any person on the staff of a University, college, or other research or teaching institution, who is appointed to a teaching and/or research post, whether full-time, temporary, ad-hoc, part-time, daily wager, honorary or on special duty or deputation, and shall include employees employed on a casual or project basis, as also persons designated as post-doctoral candidates. It shall also include persons retired from a University, college, or other research or teaching institution. |

Student includes any person who is enrolled for any course, whether full time or part time, with University, college, or other research or teaching institution and includes an undergraduate or postgraduate student, a Research Scholar, a visitor, a repeater and/or any person who has appeared for/been awarded a diploma/certificate/ undergraduate/postgraduate/M.Phil./Ph.D. degree within a period not exceeding one years prior to the date of application for membership to the Society and who is not an employee as per iii). |

National means any person who is a student or employee of any body, governmental or non-governmental, located within the territory of, and/or administered by, the sovereign republic of India |

Foreign means any person who is not a student or employee of any body, governmental or non-governmental, located within the territory of, and/or administered by, the sovereign republic of India |

Member means a Member of the Society as a Life or a Corporate or a Founder or an Ordinary Member of the Society |
Members may be of any of the following categories, and at the rates specified herein, with the provision that the Governing Body may, in a General Meeting called for the purpose, revise the rates of membership fees from time to time, but not prior to a period of five years from the date of the registration of the society:
Life Member:
A national employee or student and subscribes to the objects of the Society and pays a fee of Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees twenty thousand only) and is admitted by the Council as such.
A foreign employee or student and subscribes to the objects of the Society and pays a fee of $5000/- (US Dollars Five Thousand only) and is admitted by the Council as such.
Corporate Member: The Corporate Members shall consist of Trusts, Partnerships, Companies, Educational or Scientific or Cultural or other Institutions that are interested in promoting the objects of the Society and pay a fee of not less than Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand) per year or Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees ten thousand) in one lump sum.
Founder Member: The Founder Members shall consist of the signatories to the Memorandum of Association of the Society.
Ordinary Members
A national employee and subscribes to the objects of the Society and pays a fee of Rs. 1,500/- (Rupees one thousand and five hundred only) and is admitted by the Council as such.
A national student and subscribes to the objects of the Society and pays a fee of Rs. 500/- (Rupees five hundred only) and is admitted by the Council as such.
A foreign employee and subscribes to the objects of the Society and pays a fee of $75/- (Dollars seventy five only) and is admitted by the Council as such.
A foreign student and subscribes to the objects of the Society and pays a fee of $50/- (Dollars fifty only) and is admitted by the Council as such.
